The ores
Four metals are found in the world: tin, aluminum, magnesium and manganese. Each one exists as a stone ore and as a deepslate ore, and generates in every biome of the Overworld.
Important: ores only generate in chunks created with the mod. Create a new world, or go to an area you have never explored.
Where to dig
The height (Y) gives the zone; veins are more numerous in the middle of the zone and rarer towards its edges.
| Ore | Height (Y) | Veins per chunk | Vein size | Minimum pickaxe |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tin | -24 to 80 | 16 | 9 | stone |
| Aluminum | 0 to 128 | 14 | 9 | stone |
| Magnesium | -48 to 48 | 4 | 6 | iron |
| Manganese | -64 to 16 | 6 | 6 | iron |
- Aluminum: the most common, from the surface down to the caves.
- Tin: almost as common as copper.
- Magnesium: rare, around Y = 0.
- Manganese: rare and deep, mostly below Y = 0.
“Iron-level pickaxe” means iron, bronze, duralumin or steel: they all mine at iron level.
What an ore drops
Each ore drops its raw item (raw tin, raw aluminum, etc.), with more items under Fortune. With Silk Touch, you get the block itself.
Smelting into ingots
The raw item and both ore blocks smelt into an ingot:
| Where | Time |
|---|---|
| Furnace | 10 s |
| Blast furnace | 5 s |
The ingots are then used to make the alloys in the foundry.
